The Sphere Who Lost His Vertices

Here is a story that one of the students wrote. This story was an assignment that incorporated math and writing skills. The students wrote a story about a two dimensional  or three dimensional shape of their choice. I thoroughly enjoyed this story among many others. This story was chosen to be put on the blog because this student have overcame many obstacles in her writing. I am so proud of her. The student and I  want to share her story with many others. Enjoy.

There once was a sphere who was very happy.  The sphere was ALWAYS happy.  One day the sphere wanted to take a walk in the fields.  On the way there he noticed something.  Sphere noticed every shape had vertices.  Sphere said, "Where are my vertices?"
Sphere decided to skip the fields and went to find his vertices.  Sphere looked in his house and all over the city.  Day turned into night.  Sphere got so tired and went home to sleep.
The next morning sphere called his mom and said, "Mom, have you seen my vertices?"  Sphere's mom wanted to laugh but she didn't.  Sphere's mom said, "But dear, you do not have any vertices."  Sphere thought for a moment and said, "Oh yeah!"  Sphere also said, "No wonder my name is Sphere!", and they both busted out laughing.  THE END
